My Story

When I was little, our family would holiday at a tiny place by the beach.  Mum, Dad, my 3 brothers, and I would swim, build sand castles and run down the sandhills. At night, we would play board games around a big table. We could sleep in, stay up late, there were no chores, no homework. It was just fun.

And I would think, -  one day when I am grown up, I will have my own beach house, and my whole family will always have these magical holidays together.

At 23, I married  Alastair, and he wanted to run his own cattle farm. Of course I did everything I could to support him, because one day when he was successful, then we could have holidays together with my whole family at our beach house.

As the business started to grow, so did our family: Callum, Caitlin, and Brianna.

Then there was this day. I was sitting in my office, and Alastair was out looking at buying another farm.

Our business, - of 20+ years was really successful, and Alastair loved it.

Our kids, had all left home. Callum was completing his degree in Geology, Caitlin was backpacking solo around the world, and Brianna had started her career in H.R. All of them were living the lives they loved.

What about me? My dream? It was on a faded vision board:- a house, a beach, and distant memories of my childhood holidays in the sun. I was nowhere near my dream.

Why hadn’t I made a start on something that was still so important to me?

Something had to change. I loved my dream: - I knew I did. So on this day, I chose to re-connect to my dream, specifically how it would feel at a house by the beach with my family.

Six months later. Alastair had a new farm. And I had my beach house.

And it has given me so much more than I dreamed of.

I believe, - that if you are waiting for the One Perfect Day to start creating the life you would love, that day will never come.

So what is holding you back from living the way you would love to feel?
